Please read this carefully before you begin writing. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
You must include ALL 5 ingredients for your submission to be considered.
The extra credit does not actually give you any extra anything, just a little bit more of a challenge!
Your script can be up to 12 pages maximum, not including the title and character pages.
Please keep to a standard font (Times New Roman, Calibri, Arial etc.) at 12pt.
All plays must be in pdf format. Please title your pdf with the title of your play and your name.
Remember to fill out your title page.
The prompts are completely up to your interpretation!
We want to make it clear that we do not tolerate any sort of hateful rhetoric. The purpose of this challenge is to bring us together.
Sunday, July 12 at 6pm EST is a strict deadline.
What is a bake-off?

Created by playwright Paula Vogel, a bake-off is a writing exercise within a 48 hour period where a list of ingredients inspires people to create a piece of theatre .
Whether you’re a seasoned playwright, an avid theatre-goer, or have never written anything in your life, we want to hear from you!
COVID-19 forced theatres to close, darkening some of our brightest lights. But even though the ghost light is on for now, we want to inspire creativity and encourage the love of theatre until we all get back on stage!

Here’s what will happen.
July 10 - ingredients will be announced for the
Bake-OffYou will have 48 hours to complete your play using all of the ingredients
July 12 - 6pm EST all plays must be submitted via the website…no exceptions
The Summit Playhouse Bake-Off reading committee will chose its favorites
Our favorites will be performed live on YouTube for all to enjoy! (Date of performance TBD)
